Genoten in Sicilië!
In juli 2025 ben ik met KiteActive naar Sicilië geweest. Mijn eerste keer kitesurfen, wat een geweldige ervaring!
Onder prima omstandigheden (de meeste dagen wind) en dankzij de goede lessen heb ik kennis kunnen maken met deze mooie sport.
Goede organisatie, leuke mensen, lekker eten en een toplocatie. Alles was super geregeld. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar! KiteActive, bedankt voor deze mooie week!

Huh?! Tarifa in januari? Huh?! Jaaaa! Wat een geweldige week met KiteActive was dit. De perfecte balans tussen de voordelen van een groepsreis (samen het water op, elkaar helpen op het strand, tips en progressiesessies) zonder de nadelen (geen verplichte of semi-verplichte activiteiten).
Ik ging redelijk bleu de trip in maar mijn verwachtingen zijn vér overtroffen. De eigenaar van KiteActive, Felix, begeleidde de reis samen met een team van super sociale en ervaren kitesurfers. Dat zijn gezin mee was, was zo gezellig! Voelde echt alsof we met onze selfmade family op vakantie waren haha 😊
Van de 7 dagen hebben we er 6 kunnen kiten — wat de trip natuurlijk sowieso mega geslaagd maakte. We hebben alle condities meegemaakt. Van downwinders met killerwaves tot heerlijke lagoonsessies en een prachtige sunsetsessie als afsluiter.
De begeleiding was top: elke ochtend een heerlijk verzorgd ontbijt, een relaxte maar duidelijke organisatie en genoeg nevenactiviteiten waar je vrijblijvend aan kon meedoen—zoals hiken, een wing clinic door Bart, de bonte avond en natuurlijk; de tintotrein. De sfeer in de groep was heel fijn. Echt mijn fijnste kitetrip tot nu toe!
Handige tips voor toekomstige kiters:
• In het WildHouse slaap je in een dorm met meerdere mensen, super gezellig, maar neem oordopjes mee.
• Tarifa is dynamisch qua wind dus neem al je kitematen mee.
• Het weer kan alle kanten op: laagjes kleding mee dus 🙂
• Een auto (of autodelen) is aan te raden—ideaal om te gaan en staan waar je wilt.
Alle info vind je ook op de website van KiteActive en vooraf is er ruim mogelijkheid om je vragen te stellen en je medekiters vast een beetje te leren kennen. Kortom: kiten met KiteActive in Tarifa is een absolute aanrader voor kiters die een relaxte, sociale en goed georganiseerde trip zoeken.

I joined KiteActive on the TV TAS 2022 downwinder. For me it was a long lasting dream to kite along the wadden islands and the trip really was a mindblowing experience. Now a week later, I still feel stoked!
KiteActive managed to organise the trip in a safe way by having a large team of pro-kiters on the water who were able to perform rescues in case of any emergency, a RIB with an experienced crew who looked after us during the crossings and safeTRX watches which could be used to alert the coast guard.
The downwinder lasted only 2 days, but it felt like a complete holiday. Kiting in between groups of hunderds of seals, while having a full rainbow on the background in the direction we were sailing, just sketching one of the pictures in my mind which will never fade away. Flat water spots, nice waves to play in, 4m swell during crossings, a nice combination of all sort of conditions. A trip of a lifetime.

First time travelling with KiteActive to Sicily. I’ve had a really great time. Even if i can kite already and do some tricks here and there, the instructors gave some nice tips and newer tricks to practice on. The kitespots were spot on!
On no-wind days there was always something organized, wakeboarding behind the boat, another boat trip and snorkeling, going to an old city, etcetera, and you also have the freedom to explore at your own pace.
You’re also not alone, staying with an collected group at the place which makes it more pleasant!
