Marsala, een geweldige spot op het eiland Sicilië met hoge windzekerheid. Door het heerlijke weer is dit een populaire bestemming onder watersporters. De kitespot ligt helemaal in het westen en is een enorme vlak water lagune! Vind je golven ook leuk? Gelukkig zijn er ook diverse wavespots en andere topbestemmingen in de buurt!
Sicilië is het grootste eiland aan de Middellandse Zee en het is het zuidelijkste deel van Italië. Dankzij de ligging is het warm weer en is het kitesurfseizoen erg lang in Lo Stagnone, Marsala. De temperatuur in het voor- en najaar ligt rond de 20 graden Celsius, daarom begint het seizoen in maart en loopt tot november. Deze voorwaarden zijn vrij gelijkaardig aan Tarifa, de grootste kitesurfbestemming ter wereld. Sicilië heeft echter een groot voordeel: het is nog niet zo druk, dus zelfs beginners kunnen zich veilig voelen tijdens het oefenen. Lo Stagnone biedt een unieke kitespot met vlak, ondiep water en thermische wind. Dit zijn de ingrediënten van de perfecte kitesurfbestemming!

Kitesurfen in Lo Stagnone is zo gemakkelijk mogelijk voor beginners en ook voor gevorderden. Stel je voor dat je je tricks kunt oefenen of upwind kunt varen zonder je zorgen te maken over je board. Mocht je hem kwijtraken, dan kun je opstaan, teruglopen en hem pakken. Als je niveau gemiddeld is en je nog niet tegen de wind in kunt blijven, kun je gemakkelijk naar boven lopen elke keer dat je voelt dat je te ver komt van waar je bent begonnen. Op deze manier kun je veel meer oefenen zonder tijd te verspillen aan wandelen op het strand.

Briljante week in Tarifa met Felix en Annemaj! De week was een goede mix tussen kiten en relaxen. Veel tips op het water gekregen en altijd een oogje in het zeil als er iets gebeurt. Kan niet wachten tot de volgende!

Amazing hostel! I was there for a week of kitesurfing. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere was great. It's clean and very close to the beach. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back.
Wij hebben goede contacten met lokale scooter en auto verhuur en je zou via ons probleemloos kunnen reserveren. Natuurlijk zijn er vanaf Palermo airport verschillende car rentals waar je ook voor € 10-30 / dag een auto kan huren. Een goede website die wij aanraden voor het vinden van de goedkoopste auto is Carjet.
TIP: Neem deel aan de whatsapp groep om samen met iemand een auto te delen
Gemiddeld waait het tussen de 14 en 25 knopen. Neem dus alle maten kites die je hebt mee! Verder kan een groot board of een foil in de ochtenden soms van pas komen en een waveboard is ook zeker aan te raden want er is ook een mooie wavespot!
Onze groepen kunnen variëren van jong tot oud, en zijn vaak evenwichtig verdeeld met zowel mannen als vrouwen. Meestal bestaat de groep uit de leeftijden tussen de 20 en 45 jaar met uitzonderingen natuurlijk. Wij geven les aan beginners en geven tips aan gevorderde kitesurfers dus je kan elk niveau bij ons verwachten. Ook bieden wij vaak groepsactiviteiten aan waar je vrijblijvend aan mee kunt doen. Het kan bij sommige reizen zijn dat je een grote kamer deelt met andere KiteActive gasten, maar dit wordt aangegeven. Vaak kun je bij ons van te voren al via onze Facebook Events zien welke personen er bij de reis aanwezig zullen zijn.
Te gek, je moet het niet vergelijken met Ibiza maar er is een toffe club in de hoofdstad en verder zijn er oneindig veel beachbars die toffe thema feesten organiseren. Vergeet je hippe outfit dus niet 🙂
Jammer!! Helaas bieden wij dit event echt alleen in deze periode aan. Buiten deze periode om hebben wij gelukkig nog wel heel veel andere toffe kitesurf events en hou onze Facebook in de gaten om op de hoogte te blijven wanneer er nieuwe datas voor Italië online komen.
Een heerlijke kitesurf vakantie met een leuke club mensen! Ons team zal je pushen nieuwe tricks te leren en met zijn allen staan we zoveel mogelijk op het water! Brazil has a huge diversity of kite spots. Around our KiteActive Pousada in Cumbuco there are several kite spots where we will kite. First, you can choose to kite in front of the guesthouse at sea, where beautiful big waves roll in. If you go for a downwinder from the guesthouse, it will take you about 20 minutes to get to the world-famous kite spot, Cauipi. Every year all riders from the kitesurfing world tour travel here, to train and enjoy the most perfect and beautiful conditions in the world. You have mirror surface water here and you can learn from the pros!
When you book this trip, you know one thing for sure. You get enough kite hours! From June to the end of December the wind blows non stop between 15 and 30 knots side on-shore. This in combination with 30 degrees and a warm Atlantic ocean of 25+ ensures that you will soon pack your things 🙂

In the morning there is breakfast until 10:00 in the pousada. In the afternoon you can have lunch with a healthy Acai bowl and in the evening we all go out for dinner in the many good restuarants of Cumbuco or we organize a BBQ at our home! Already travelled with KiteActive several times! Always a cozy relaxed atmosphere. From beginner to pro, everyone can come. I also recommend the beautiful Zanzibar! Kiteactive has its own guesthouse where you can stay. Walk 100 meters and you are on the beach with beautiful clear water. In the evening you can join us for dinner and enjoy delicious food made by the locals. And in addition to kiting, there is also partying in the local open air discos, what a cool experience! The other evening ends again on the beach by a campfire, nice. Also, don’t forget the Blue Safari, sailing on an old traditional sailboat and then jumping into the water to swim with wild dolphins. For Brazil, no vaccinations are mandatory. With KLM there is the possibility to bring your boardbag for free. Furthermore, it depends on how much you have to pay per flight company. Often you have to report it to the airline in advance. If you want, we’ll get you from Fortaleza Airport. Please notify us in advance and provide us with your flight details. The downwinder in Brazil always starts on Sunday at 10:00 from Cumbuco or Jericoacoara.
It is advisable to stay a few nights earlier in our Pousada in Cumbuco to get into it a bit, get used to the sun and enjoy. The downwinder Brazil lasts until Saturday evening. Then you’ll be back in Cumbuco.

The wind on Zanzibar is a much discussed topic in the kite world. The wind seasons are from June to September and from December to early March. Every season is different at Zanzibar, we have experienced seasons when you were banging your 9m2 well every day, but also seasons when we had no wind for a few days or only for large kites (14m2 +). It remains a sport that depends on mother nature but in general you will definitely make enough hours on the water!

The kitesurfing conditions on Zanzibar are suitable for all levels. From scratch beginners to hardcore kitesurfing experts. The best kite months are December to mid-March andJune to September, when the El Nino and El Nina blow through the surf village of Paje. Often you have a minimum of 12 knots which increases in the afternoon to 16 knots with high tide. The temperature of the water is above 24 degrees, all year round so you can leave your wetsuit at home without a doubt!

Breakfast is on our roof terrace every morning and consists of a simple but tasty breakfast with fresh fruit, chapati, bread, coffee and everything you need! In the afternoon you can have lunch in the many tents on the beach and in the evening our chef cooks a gentlemanly meal that you can sign up for. Of course, you can also choose to eat out in one of the delicious restaurants where fresh fish and giant lobsters are no exception. Drinks are written down on your room number and will be paid at the end of the ride!

The wind on Zanzibar is a much discussed topic in the kite world. The wind seasons are from June to September and from December to early March. Every season is different at Zanzibar, we have experienced seasons when you were banging your 9m2 well every day, but also seasons when we had no wind for a few days or only for large kites (14m2 +). It remains a sport that depends on mother nature but in general you will definitely get jet kitesurfing!!!!!

Regardless of length of stay, the following vaccinations for Tanzania are recommended: vaccination against DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio), vaccination against hepatitis A (contagious jaundice) and yellow fever vaccination. If you have not had measles or a measles vaccination, a BMR vaccination is recommended for Tanzania. Yes, but you have to buy this at the airport for $50,-. So always make sure you have enough dollars with you when you arrive at the airport. This saves you a lot of time.

Booking a trip with us is very easy. Just send us a message, phone call, whats app or send a carrier pigeon that you want to join and we will take care of the rest. As soon as you book we reserve a place for you with the trip up to 10 days. If the deposit has been transferred (25% of the total amount) then you are sure that you are there! You can cancel the trip for free for up to 2 days after your booking, after which you will be charged.
Our groups can vary from young to old, and are often evenly distributed with both men and women. Usually the group consists of the ages between 20 and 45 years with exceptions of course. We teach beginners and give tips to advanced kitesurfers so you can expect any level with us. We also often offer group activities that you can participate in without obligation. Some trips may involve sharing a large room with other KiteActive guests, but this is indicated. Often you can already see which people will be present during the trip via our Facebook Events in advance. As this is our very first own Guesthouse, the groups are larger than usual. People from other countries can also stay in our guesthouse.
In principle not, we mainly give advice on which flight is best to book! You fly to Stone Town, Zanzibar city (ZNZ). After you land, it’s another hour’s drive to the end point, Paje. Tui flies directly for good prices, don’t forget to look through Brussels because that matters a lot.Furthermore, we recommend checking Skyscanner for your best flight. Would you rather KiteActive take care of everything? No problem. Besides kitesurfing, Paje is a perfect place to learn to dive or lie on the beach. In the evening you can always have a drink with fellow kitesurfers in one of the local bars or resorts. Every Friday evening there is a big beach party at the Jambo bar and there are regular fun parties at the nearby resorts.
Yes, you rent a car for +/- $ 40,- per day and a motorbike for $ 30,- per day. However, we do not recommend renting a car as a novice driver. In Zanzibar people drive on the left and they have a pretty aggressive driving style. In any case, bring your international driver’s license so you don’t have to buy off police every time.
With us you can expect a top atmosphere. A cozy kitehouse with a cool team that will make your holiday a kitesurfing dream. Because we have Zanzibar in-house, this is one of the few places that we can put completely as we want: according to the ‘eat – sleep – kite -repeat principle’. During the day we chill at the kite center or on the water. If the wind doesn’t blow, we organize activities. In the evening we go to nice food and to cool reggae parties or do dance battles with the locals.
